Een humoristisch en ontroerend verhaal over erbij horen

Soula Notos is een Nederlands-Griekse theatermaker, storyteller, actrice en comedian die haar eerste lange theatrale stuk heeft geschreven “Who are you when no one is looking”. In het stuk vertelt ze expressieve, energieke, poëtische verhalen vol zelfspot over opgroeien met verschillende labels en hoe ermee om te gaan zonder je verstand te verliezen.

Het gaat niet alleen om een ​​persoonlijke reis, maar ook om een ​​universeel verhaal over hoe je je plek onder de zon probeert te vinden. Wie beslist of je tot een groep behoort of niet? Wat weet je echt over een andere persoon? En waarom danst één persoon als een gek en moet de ander drie drankjes drinken voordat er iets begint te bewegen. Met andere woorden: wie ben jij als niemand kijkt?

A humorous and touching story about belonging

Soula Notos is a Dutch-Greek theater maker, storyteller, actress and comedian who has written her first long theatrical piece “Who are you when no one is looking”. In the piece she tells expressive, energetic, poetic stories full of self-mockery about growing up with different labels and how to deal with them without losing your mind.

It’s a recount of not only a personal journey, but also a universal story about trying to find your place under the sun. Who decides if you belong to a group or not? What do you really know about another person? And why does one person dance like crazy and the other needs to have 3 drinks before something starts moving at all. In other words: Who are you when no one is looking?

She performed the play at storytelling festivals in Amsterdam, Utrecht, London, Prague, and Oslo.
